It was just bad optics.
They shouldn’t have videoed it.
But most anyone that works in a restaurant as a prep cook will admit this type of thing happens all the time as a function of work.
In the 1980’s, I worked at the first restaurant of what is now a national chain. It was started by some guys that owned a bunch of Wendy’s restaurants along with a French trained chef.
We would make dressings from scratch. Start with a 20 gallon bucket and pour in a couple 5 gallon containers of mayo, then the rest of the ingredients. Reach down to the bottom and start stirring.
There is no whip you can use to get it all stirred. And no gloves long enough. You just had to do it.
That’s just the way it is sometimes!
Well I will eat out less for sure now. Other’s skin, arm hair, fingernail dirt not something I want to ingest. I am always astounded at the number of people I see when I am washing my hands in a public bathroom who leave their stall and go straight to the door. Some people are just nasty.
How many waiters grab that lemon for your water with their hands. And that after they just collected dirty dishes.
