Angry Star Wars fans have been up in arms over The Last Jedi since it released in December, so much so that one group claims its going to remake it.
A website called RemakeTheLastJedi.com and corresponding Twitter account popped up in June, purporting to be created by a group of producers who mean to make a new version of Episode VIII. Of course, people can pledge money on that website. Supposedly it has raised more than $22 million as of this writing but claims that the cost of actually making the film will be covered by the unnamed producers behind it.
Director Rian Johnson responded on Twitter to the Remake account, and in keeping with his recent attitude in responding to the worst Star Wars fans and their online activities, he was appropriately cheeky. Please please please please pleeeeeeeaaaase please actually happen, Johnson wrote.

Remake The Last Jedi @RMTheLastJedi Our team of producers is offering to cover the budget for a remake of The Last Jedi in order to save Star Wars. Share this and spread the word to let @RobertIger & @Disney know you want this! This isn't a joke, we're ready to have the convo now!
Its the latest step made by a cabal of awful Star Wars fans, who have petitioned to have The Last Jedi thrown out of the Star Wars canon. Those fans are mad about several different things, including the movies treatment of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), but also contains (or is made up of) a contingent of fans who are mad about the social justice warrior tack the recent movies have taken.
Specifically, bigoted Star Wars fans have complained about the new series women leads, Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), and about its black male lead, Finn (John Boyega). For all the complaints about story, the vocally angry fans trying to get Star Wars changed have harassed the films stars, apparently driving Tran off social media service Instagram.
Johnson responded to Trans leaving the social network earlier this month, as did Hamill. Johnson called those fans manbabies on Twitter, and Hamill supported Tran with a tweet and photo of his own, ending with the hashtag, #GetaLifeNerds.
Death star scenes of the attack and being destroyed in ROJ were good. Everything else was awful. 1-3 are awful in comparison. Vii and viii have good effects but are even more awful.
The surprising thing would have been if these movies were anything like as good as the original.
The Solo movie, on the other hand, was quite good.
The original plan for Return Of The Jedi was that the planet would be the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. And it would be a massive army of Wookiees fighting the Empire on the ground. For some reason Lucas early on found that his plan wasnt feasible (?!?) so he sliced the Wookiees down and made them Ewoks.
So Hamill is again showing his lib side rather than being true to his apparent disgust with the story line?
Darth Vader was a legitimately scary villain.
The Emperor was a legitmately scary villain.
The current trilogy has no legitimately scary villain.
It needs one.
Otherwise the task of the alleged heroes has no power.
They could have given The Doctor’s daughter a series.
I have only one PC trait, being a woman.
I despise the PCness.
I actually don’t mind having “diverse” characters (but not homo or Moslem - LOL what a pair that would be), but they are SO SELF-CONSCIOUS about this, as is every lib, and it doesn’t fit in with the original set.
The original wasn’t that diverse. We had a woman (who actually was strong, not just a shell of a tough girl), and we had a pseudo-black guy who isn’t quite the normal black guy in traits. So we had something, but not over much.
Then, to make PREquels AND sequels that are suddenly MORE diverse by spades than the pieces that fit in the middle is absurd.
If you’re going to add diversity, please just add a new type of person here or there. Don’t throw a ton of them in. It smacks of non-reality.
"Star Wars The Last Jedi Fixed it For You Fan Edit"
Found it on bitchute in very good quality, but you may have to look elsewhere to find it as they are purging it hard.
It wasn’t the actors that made it bad; although some could have done better. It was poorly written. Most of all it was all the SJW crap that made it the worst SW movie yet. The Han Solo movie was much better even though it too had a little SJW crap.
This thing in Hollyweird of making women the hero all the time just isn’t going to cut it.
TLJ destroyed the fantasy. I know its a movie but it was a good fantasy, escape from reality for awhile. But that fantasy was destroyed by bad acting, bad screenplay, bad SJW/Feminist/Liberal propaganda and I think that’s what happened to Solo. I and several other fans, my kids included, just lost the fantasy of Star Wars and we really didn’t even care to go see Solo. I doubt it will return. What happens in a galaxy far away, should stay in a galaxy far away and not have Earthly politics brought into it.
Agree sooo much!
“There is A New Hope and maybe Empire Strikes Back.
After that nothing but scat.”
Agree. “A New Hope” was brilliant. (So of course all of the characters had to be killed off at the end /sarc./)
The idiots are the ones complaining about the actors. The real problem is the story and it is not just the last movie, although it was dramatically worse than the previous one.
Disney's response to criticism over TLJ has been a full blown left-wing/SJW attack on the fans. People producing Star Wars and in the movie news have been going at the fans every week for months, responding to all criticism with accusations of sexism and racism no matter what anyone actually said. Disney's upper management could have easily stop this if they wanted and so far they have done nothing about it.
Fans responded by unofficially boycotting Solo, which became the first Star Wars movie to lose money at the box office, losing around $80 to $100 million. Disney finally took notice and it looks like Kathleen Kennedy will be gone by the end of the year. Hopefully, Rian Johnson will follow her out the door.
I honestly think that how Disney is treating Star Wars fans is worse than how Democrats and the MSM treat Trump supporters.
They, along with their minions have ruined the franchise brand, poisoned the well and totally alienated the overwhelming majority of their once deeply loyal fan base.
And their ongoing "solution" is to rabidly attack, and spit on their totally disenfranchised fan base... like that plan is going to help save the franchise, NOT!
On the other hand, Star Wars had decades of developed and cross-referenced fiction - some quite good (like the Timothy Zahn novels). They had encyclopedias of background to draw upon.
Or he’s defending an actress.
