A former Union High School teacher who resigned nearly six years ago after posting anti-gay comments on social media has settled her long-standing lawsuit against the district for $132,500.
Jenye "Viki" Knox will receive $24,500 for back wages, $63,833.33 for claims of emotional distress and $44,166.67 for attorney's fees, according to court papers.
The news was first reported by NJ Civil Settlements, which compiles a partial list of settlements paid by New Jersey government agencies and their insurers to those who have sued them.
Knox, a 56-year-old Union Township resident who taught special education, described homosexuality as a "perverted spirit" and a "sin" that "breeds like cancer" in her 2011 Facebook post.
"Why parade your unnatural immoral behaviors before the rest of us?" Knox wrote. "I DO NOT HAVE TO TOLERATE ANYTHING OTHERS WISH TO DO. I DO HAVE TO LOVE AND SPEAK AND DO WHAT'S RIGHT!"

$132k is hardly a retirement nest egg.

I vow never to try to patronize their filthy establishments or schools against their will, if only they have the good grace and class to do likewise. Their suicide as a solution works for me too.
What happened to this lady is only among the largest of the many reasons I never got on F-book.
So it is back on the town. They are responsible for the actions of their hirelings.
Might she have gotten more had she not claimed that homosexuality “breeds”?
