Dozens of four legged friends have been brought to Deer Canyon preserve to eat as much as they can.
"We have an environmental land manager that's under contract here, we have about 180 boar, spanish and nubian goats that are out here, that are assisting with brush clearance."
The goats are part of the city's plan to clear thick, dangerous fuels that could ignite.
Anaheim fire says this two month process is much more efficient using these animals.
"It would take a long time, we would have to rotate crews repeatedly because of the terrain and how hot it is, where with the goats, they can work all day long."
Video from the drone shows the stark difference between areas the goats have already eaten and where they have yet to go.

This is going to piss off the Muzzies.
And then you get to kill and eat them when they’re done!
I believe they are BOER goats?
I never saw the suppoded contrast from their eating brush.
Been toying with idea of getting some goats.
Dont have anything grown up enough for them.
Should be a good market for meat goats with all the mesicans and muzzies around.
We used to live in the SF Bay area. There were a number of nice parks that we liked to walk in in the summer evenings and even during the day during the winter rainy season.
Then, to save money the county brought in goats to do the grass mowing and brush control in early summer each year. Well, it turns out that a herd of goats will turn an 18" high stand of grass into 2" or 3" of goat poop spread rather evenly over the ground.
People driving by and looking at the hillside think it is nicely mowed and close cropped. If you get out of your car and actually walk on the "ground" you discover that you are walking in a sea of little goat berries. Pretty disgusting for anyone who actually wants to use the park instead of just looking at it.
And the best is yet to come, for when the rains start, the goat berries reconstitute into a sea of mushy goat poop.
The goats made the park land completely unusable.
Sounds like too many goats.
Are they good workers?
Not baa aaa aaad.
Then comes building fences and cleaning up after and....never mind.
Sounds like the county saved on fertilizer for the park as well.
After goats:
The land next door was kept down by goats. You would walk out to your car in the morning and there were three goats standing on the hood. They did an awesome job, though. At least if you don’t walk around I guess. Never noticed inordinate fecal output, ha. I was glad they were there because they kept the ticks down too. I always though I would rather have these goats than brushhogs & tractors in the evening.
Freegards
Let them eat all they want, then let’s get out the BBQ!
The rangers better get in there fast and plant something else. If the rain gets there first you get mud slides.
Goats work cheap! They work for food!
