Recipe @ link. On June 17 get whirled up in pastry dough, apples and spices. It’s National Apple Strudel Day.
In German, the word strudel means whirlpool or eddy. This tasty dessert is perfectly described by its German language as the sweet mixture of fruit, sugar, spices and layers of thin dough that are rolled together and baked. The result is a bubbling, flaky treat.
Often served at bakeries and coffee shops, strudel can also be a savory dish.

I read the headline, and exclaimed OMG! to my wife. She looked at me with querying eyes, and I told her it is “NATIONAL APPLE STREUDEL DAY” today.
I looked at her with a very serious look, and said “GET TO WORK”.
SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH! I can’t repeat what she told me. Wasn’t nice.

I’d settle for a national “The Day We Locked Her Up” day.
