My personal view is that these so called "Refugees", and Illegals crossing the border are in violation immigration policy and should be arrested.
I am for sending these family's and children back to where they came from. Yet the Liberal's and Leftists feel we should have Open Borders and anyone come in.
In our own Legal System when a parent or parents are arrested that have underage children, if the child has no where to go, other family. Then that child is put into the State System of a shelter or Foster Care. No one ever talks about this and it happens every day.
So please enlighten me as to exactly where this policy of separating the families started, did it predate Trump or is something that is from his administration. Thanks.
(a) Improper time or place; avoidance of examination or inspection; misrepresentation and concealment of facts
Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.
(b) Improper time or place; civil penaltiesAny alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to enter) the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty of—
(1) at least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry (or attempted entry); or
(2) twice the amount specified in paragraph (1) in the case of an alien who has been previously subject to a civil penalty under this subsection.
Civil penalties under this subsection are in addition to, and not in lieu of, any criminal or other civil penalties that may be imposed.
(c) Marriage fraud
Any individual who knowingly enters into a marriage for the purpose of evading any provision of the immigration laws shall be imprisoned for not more than 5 years, or fined not more than $250,000, or both.
(d) Immigration-related entrepreneurship fraud
Any individual who knowingly establishes a commercial enterprise for the purpose of evading any provision of the immigration laws shall be imprisoned for not more than 5 years, fined in accordance with title 18, or both.
You know if a lawyer was smart enough he could say that holding those illegal children is “protecting them” with the order of the 14th amendment Their parents are illegal here which makes that a criminal offence it’s not illegal to lock them up but it would be more egregious
to leave those children on the street and homeless which violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. so keeping them safe in this case even from their parents whose first act was to break the law coming here is plausible even defendable
But in the area of constitutionality presented by these cases no national policy is perceived that might justify the State in denying these children protection even from their parents who broke the law !
My guess is that it originated long before trump and the the kids that were seperated before were never seen again. I believe they were keep in cages. And if that wasn’t horrific enough,I am not sure what happen after that.

I want to thank everyone who contributed to this thread, it has a lot of good information we need to hit back our critics with. It confirms the rank Hypocrisy and Mendacity of our opponents and the lies they spread on President Trump, while giving a pass to their own like Clinton and Obama.
While I wish there was another solution, there is not, the same policies have been in place everyday in our own Criminal Justice System and yet the “Compassionate” Left Wing Liberals never say a word.
What we have now is nothing more than a feel good cause a celeb that makes all these people feel good but then they never offer any solutions. The only solution would be to build large Internment Camps like we had during W.W. II and not only will that not work it would also be an outrage to many.
