On June 16, 2015, businessman Donald Trump stepped off a golden escalator and officially announced his candidacy for the presidency.
Trump had flirted with running for political office in the past, and almost everyone watching with the possible exception of the man giving the speech, notes CNN's Brian Stelter considered this to be some type of publicity stunt.
We were all wrong.

What an entrance into history haha.
Love Melania’s dress!
Yes 'they' were.☺
“almost everyone watching with the possible exception of the man giving the speech, notes CNN’s Brian Stelter considered this to be some type of publicity stunt.”
a big reason the leftist fake stream media is so butt-hurt and virulently anti-Trump ...
On Aug 14 of that some year (after some consideration and limited research on DJT), I told my 2 boys, "Donald Trump is the next president". They did not reply.
I just realized, Trump’s escalator announcement reminds me of the standard ‘Elevator Speech’.
An Elevator Speech is often taught to people want to start their own business. It is a brief commerical about who you are, what you plan to accomplish, or how you can benefit a company or organization.
An Elevator Speech is typically about 30 seconds; as long as it takes people to ride from the top to the bottom of a building in an elevator. The presumption is you will be speaking directly to decision makers.
As Janet Napolitano said; “The system worked!”

The silent majority is back, and were going to take our country back.
- Donald Trump declared as he left the stage.
Then Mr. Trump came down that escalator and for only the second time in my life I saw someone I could actually vote for.
Ironically, his Presidency has served to reaffirm my opinion of our politicians.
MSM (like the lap dogs they are) followed each and every Tweet
...and the rest is history.
Trump: amazing life and amazing wife.
At first I was totally not buying it.
That August, when he tore into McCain, I was like “I think we may have something here”.
Best vote I ever made.
Great speech. Thanks for posting.
And he “bested” sixteen “professional” politicians who had no answers to the questions he posed in the campaign. That speaks volumes about the “$hit” we have masquerading as men and women who have come to Washington to “improve our country,” when, in reality, they are there primarily to “improve the size of their personal wealth,” and that of their mega-donors!
Prayers were answered. HE has not forsaken us.
We prayed; faith restored when soon to be President, DJT, words were heard.
Fear and doubt were washed away, a new day was beginning in America!
Bless you for this post.
How far we, as a nation, have come.
There is, at last, Hope and Change!
Thanks. Bless you.
On September 11, 2016, after watching Hillary being tossed into a van like a sack of potatoes, I declared, "The race for president is over."
