Butt, butt, butt.....I thought that salmonella was known in the state of California to cause cancer. Drinking out of my garden hose apparently causes it. Good thing I don’t live in Cali.

The name Honey Smacks was chosen after the name Salmonella Smacks was shown to adversely affect sales.

Bad press for Kellogg’s. They are having a hard enough time already, with Millenials drinking far less milk than prior generations. Many of this demograph don’t even want to make a bowl of cereal for their breakfast, preferring instead to buy Sausage & Egg McMuffins or granola bars when they chose to.

People still purchase that Kelloggs poison?

I had understood that sugary things were less likely to harbor salmonella, as the sugar hogs needed moisture from the salmonella. Maybe Honey Smacks needs MORE sugar! And bring back the Smackin' Brothers!
(And Post, bring back Sugar Frosted Rice Krinkles, best cereal ever, except maybe Quake).

They could recover by changing back to the real name, Sugar Smacks.

I haven’t bought Kellogg’s product in two years. When they started boycotting conservative media figures, I started a boycott of Kellogg’s. A pox on this company. Salmonella-causing cereal is a perfect metaphor of their slow demise.

“third-party manufacturer that produces the cereal”
i think i see the problem ... wonder what country that third-party manufacturer is in ... maybe a country not bound by U.S. and FDA manufacturing standards?
