Just me looking at the zoomed version of the missile that baby is not a short range job, tail plume too big in relation to the physical rocket
My guess is it was headed out, maybe into space to take down a satellite or something but for sure it did not come down. if it were to have been shot down the resulting explosion of the target would have created a massive explosion that could not be denied as anything else. sub Launched Ballistic Missiles are ICBM (Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles) that go up and out and then when the world turns come back down, unless they explode in space

What is the effective altitude envelope of THAAD (publicly released, anyway)?
THAAD’s are kinetic kill vehicles. Also, the threat could be as minimal as an upgraded FPV drone, there are several instances of combatants expending multimillion dollar missiles on these types of threats. About the only thing we can actually take to the bank at this point is that there was a land side or near shore launch of a missile there.

I think you’ve landed on an alternative meaning for As The World Turns (ATWT). Could mean missile launch, not necessarily assassination attempt.
