I used to live closer to a small airport in Chino, Ca with the Planes of Fame museum
I could hear the sound of a P-51s hangared there as the pilots flew overhead and went a little more inland and had fun buzzing about. The sound is so special, even different in ways from a Spitfire but still the most lovely piston engined power plant I have ever heard
I would love to see and hear a Lanc, as a young boy I remember the movie The Dam Busters and lately I have begun to search for more on the Mosquito with Twin Merlins

Many years ago there was an air show at Rickenbacker AFB near Columbus OH (mostly commercial use now) called The Gathering of the Mustangs. Had well over 100 of them there!
And LO and BEHOLD! There was a Lancaster! Four Merlins and the Lanc was bigger than I had envisioned.
