Authorities said Friday that a "Good Samaritan" turned in a significant sum of cash to police -- rather than abscond with the loot. Now the police department hopes to reconnect the money with its rightful owner.

Prospect Heights, a Chicago suburb; in case you forgot.
Drug money?
But no doubt, they’ll have plenty of people claiming to have lost it anyway.
Jesse Pinkman lives~!
Yea right, they have illegal assets forfeiture fake laws to criminally steal honest cash money from innocent good people, and they are just going to give this back... what a bunch of assholes
Yes. Sending my address so you can return it to me.
But he is living in Alaska.
D.B. Cooper?
I would come and pick up this cash I left there if somebody would tell me how to get there. I need directions.
Yeah, you’re right...
Nigerian princes come in many sizes, forms and shapes -
I feel that would be more of a legitimate deal than this ‘fishing expedition’.
D.B. Cooper?
He must have gotten tired humping that bag of cash everywhere!
“$1200 cash found out in the parking lot. Would the owner please form a line to the right.”
I found a wallet at McDs in Rolling Meadows.
Had several hundred dollars in it.
Happened to be some RM cops inside.
They didn’t want anything to do with it.
Probably too far below their pay grade.
There was some form of ID, though I can’t remember what, that I was able to finally get a phone number.
It was 17-19 year olds.
He had his car payment money in it.
His mom met me at McDs.
That's an odd way to meet women, but +1 for moxie...
Two thumbs up!
Perfect.
My dad was walking the dog in Glenview, found a wallet with one thousand plus dollars in cash!
The owner said he was going on his honeymoon that weekend, and wanted to give the old man a nice reward. Dad said thanks, but you need it more.
The gentleman told dad was a roofer and the old man’s roof was about due.
A few weeks later the roof starts leaking, the guy came out patched the roof for free, and gave him a price for a new roof, telling the old man that it was rock bottom.
My brother did residential roofing during summer breaks, said he could not match it.
So the old man got a new roof for about half the going rate! Still on the house when they sold, many troublefree years later.
Prospect Heights? Drug money. Guarantee it.
