My ex-wife's Grandpa had a poodle he use to sic on her Dads's dogs. Grandpa thought it was hilarious. One time Grandpa was not there and the poodle went after the dogs on his own. Dogs killed it.
A family fight ensued when Grandpa got his gun and was going to shoot the dogs.

Territorians and Northern Queenslanders tend to use dogs to check for crocs in the local waterholes. They will only go swimming after a dog has been thrown in and had a swim for awhile. I have heard that crocs are particularly attracted to dogs but i dont know if that is true!
