Johnson has already served 21 years of a life sentence after she was convicted on charges of conspiracy to possess cocaine and attempted possession of cocaine....
Ms. Johnson has accepted responsibility for her past behavior and has been a model prisoner over the past two decades. Despite receiving a life sentence, Alice worked hard to rehabilitate herself in prison, and act as a mentor to her fellow inmates, the White House said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.

While seemingly frivolous it might be just and probably it is politically smart.
Not a big issue. Trump knows her daughter is a lib, thanks to Jared and lets her do the lib issues so Trump will not be seen as truly to the right.
I'd hardly call just a scenario where hundreds of thousands are serving very long sentences for relatively minor nonviolent offenses, with the exception of a single inmate who happened to be a useful prop for a reality show skank's self-promoting publicity stunt.
How about the Hammonds, Mr President?
Very good points. I remember about 20 years ago some really bad guys escaped from prison in Texas and I think there were deaths involved. I remember that the one with the SHORTEST sentence was the one convicted for murder. The rest were basically serving life for things like armed robbery. No wonder they were desperate. If they’d had reasonable terms, maybe they’d have served & behaved.
I wonder how much the ridiculous sentences has to do with the gang problem and rape problem in prison.
I couldn't stand that thug, Blago. But his sentence was ridiculous. I always assumed it was because he knew too much & they wanted him to never get out. Like Noriega. I would love to see him commuted.
Me thinks Alice will be living with a kartrashians as an servant
Nope that was Allen Park
Thanx. I am trying to remember the story I heard or read years ago about a bag of trash dumped in trash can.
