The author of the Star Wars: Aftermath trilogy, Chuck Wendig, went on a Twitter rant against Star Wars fans, calling them #GamerGate, #ComicsGate, MRAs, Incels and white supremacists.
He started off the rant on May 31st, 2018, exclaiming that he went down a rabbit hole of crappy Star Wars fans after they threatened to boycott his upcoming book and were glad Solo: A Star Wars Story tanked at the box office.

There’s a string of tweets from Wendig, as he unloads on the very people that help make the fandom what it is, writing in succession…

“Current idea is that SOLO is “tanking” — I guess by having the fourth biggest opening in 2018 so far — because of SUPERFANS who so hated the Last Jedi so bad that their magic hate powers caused a sorcerous boycott of SOLO.
“And that’s astonishingly goofy on so many levels.
“First, that fans — again, FANS! — are happy — HAPPY!? — that Star Wars is faring poorly. It’s like rooting for your own child to fail. It’s like hoping your own puppy falls down some steps. It’s so weird.

How was I insulting? If you check my history, you’ll see that I’m not a liberal. I just happen to like that cute little movie and can’t quite figure out why you think that’s me being rude or what that makes me a liberal. Really, if your posts to me are what passes for polite...well, nuff said. No hard feelings, don’t know what punched your button. Don’t bother to reply, however, I won’t be reading your response.
Billy Dee still had that smooth 70’s vibe, not sure anyone could replace him or play him in the same vein without coming across as corny now. I thought casting Glover was an interesting choice, he’s a very varied and multifaceted artist, I like that he’s a writer first and became an early internet viral creator with his comedy.
Speaking of kids, I would literally let my DVDS of Star Wars movies 1-6 burn in a house fire just to save my real children.
I have not been to a movie theater in two years. Hollywood is dead to me. But I will see the new Jurassic World unless it get bad reviews. I am a sucker for dinosaurs.
Jurassic World is not front loaded with politically correct, 80lb (soaking wet) heroines out kicking butt. A big plus.
Star Wars only became a phenomenon due to the patronage of white, heterosexual men.....these idiots who are just now discovering Star Wars stand on the shoulders of giants (ok, actually the shoulders of nerds)...
