Here is a 17-second video of a pit bull "Climb-jumping" a 6 foot chan-link fence. There are many such videos on Youtube, a number of fences which are taller than 6', some of which the dogs climb and clamber over solid wooden fences, at least one 12' fence, and in one video, scaling a 20' wall. The dog owners in the videos seem very proud of the dog's prowess.

I find it difficult to believe that the dog owner did not know his pit bull dog could jump a 4-ft fence.
How surprising that it was a Pitt Bull ....
seems like every week now there are 1-5 stories or so about pit bulls attacking people- Even loving owners-
Only thing I ever had to kill was a Pit Bull.
Once it attacked me in my own back yard and I was barely able to get it to back off by repeatedly whacking in on the head with a shovel I realized it was an existential danger to the children in the neighborhood.
I borrowed a semi-auto 45 from a friend and he showed me how to use it.
The next encounter in my yard ended with me using the same shovel to bury the phuking monster.
I’m not proud of it, but I would do it again if required.
People need to get huge fines when they get out. Jail time if they injure someone.
Woman across the street is a “Dog Trainer” even though she does not exercise them a wit and comes out and yells at them. She has two of the nastiest pits I have seen in my life. I don’t mow unarmed. Pits can be good dogs if raised right and there excess energy worked off. It is like I tell my wife, you need a license to raise a kid, a rot, a pit, a wife... etc. The mutual SEG is funny.
What, people can't run around outdoors anymore?
You did the right thing.
Dog of Peace alert!
I’d be scared to death of the two dogs you have across the street...seriously.
I still occasionally have nightmares about the one that attacked me :-/
IMO, more dangerous than a Mountain Lion.
Like this?
Elderly man and woman in critical condition after being mauled by FOUR pit bulls in vicious attack
An elderly couple are in critical condition after being mauled by four pit bulls at their home in central California.
Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christianson says deputies who arrived at the house in Modesto on Tuesday night found the four dogs attacking an elderly man in his front yard.
Deputies then found an elderly woman inside the house who was also critically injured from dog bites.

Pit bulls which twice attacked my lab puppy are the reason I finally got my ccw and carry all the time now.
If I have to shoot one, he wont survive. I wont stop shooting until that is certain.
Unfortunately, it is not surprising any more.
I wish that it were.
“Overall, pit bulls accounted for 68% of the human dog attack deaths in 2017, 88% of the human disfigurements, 92% of the dogs killed by other dogs, 94% of the dogs seriously injured by other dogs, 96% of the cats killed by dogs, and 74% of the farmed animals killed by dogs.”

Keep your powder dry.
This solution has its merits. “Pit and Run” may be equivalent to “Hit and Run” someday.
“The dog owner was cited for running at large,” Lawton Animal Welfare’s Field Supervisor Roy Rodrick said. .......
Strange that the dogs owner wasn’t shot for running at large. Lucky for him he didn’t get shot.
Sorry, I am not familiar what the initials SEG mean?
Also, a fire extinguisher unleashed straight into the mouth and nose can gain release about 70% of the time. If needed.
If read as written, apparently not. Or possibly the writer believes that the pitbull is its own owner. This is the sort of grammar that is produced when the “talent”, hired for looks, does his or her own writing.
So it is. Perhaps it is time to actually copywrite the term. I see further down the posts that there is another, much worse and likely fatal, attack on multiple elderly persons that occurred hours after this initial post.
