he forensic psychiatrist who assisted in the investigations into the death of American child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey has been shot dead outside his office.

Dr. Steven Pitt, 59, helped investigate the high profile 1996 murder case as well as a string of other killings in the Phoenix area more than a decade ago.

In JonBenet’s case Pitt believed the pineapple found in the six-year-old’s digestive tract, which her mother denied she ate, was proof of a family cover up.

He was leaving his office when witnesses say they heard a loud argument then gunfire as he was shot on Thursday.

I did. The pineapple. The note. The obviously staged crime scene. The lie about the son being up. The delay in calling for help. The lie about having searched the house (it ain’t that big of a house). The fact the family was till wearing the clothes from the night before. There is just so much that anyone else would be in prison.

There are a lot of curious aspects of this case. Her body was found in a room in the basement of the Ramsey's home, with a ransom note found elsewhere in the house. If an intruder had entered the house and killed this little girl, why would they leave the body in the house after writing a ransom note and leaving it inside the home? You know the police are going to search every inch of the house, and will find the body. That being the case, wouldn't it have been more logical for the "intruder" to leave the note and hide the body elsewhere, hoping it wouldn't be found until after the ransom was paid? Also, the parents wouldn't speak to the police, except on their own terms. Any other parent would have been talking to the police constantly, telling them everything they could think of that might help solve the case.

I believe someone in her family killed her accidentally. I have read most of the books. It was unreal how Patsy and her husband called many of their friends to come over after getting the randsome note. The randsome note was written on a pad in their house. The friends were all over the house contaminating it. Who does that when the note said do not contact police? So they invite their friends over as well as call the police?

That room was very well hidden and you had to know the house very well to find the room. The pineapple bowl with Patsy’s fingerprints on it. No footprints were found outside in the snow. John went directly to the hidden room with his neighbor friend, lifted JOn Benet, carried her upstairs, peeled off the tape on her mouth then threw a blanket on her contaminating her body.

The randsome amount was exact amount of John’s bonus 118K.

The police were not allowed to question Burke for several days. He was promptly removed from the home and taken to a friends house.

Yes police made mistakes but it was started by Ramsey’s letting their friends in their home.

If that would have been me, I would have called police only. Preserving evidence is vital.

It was like they wanted to throw people off the trail on purpose.

I think Burke did it and they covered for their remaining child.

The grand jury say all the evidence and came back with yes, to convict both John and Patsy but the prosecutor over ruled them and didn’t charge them. Why?

Whether the police botched the case or not, to deny that Patsy wrote that note is, well,..... let’s just say to deny it, you’d have to be a very close friend or family member covering for her. Come on.

The grand jury said yes, to convict them, they saw all the evidence. The prosecutor over ruled them and didn’t charge them.

Patsy and John called their friends and neighbors who swarmed the house, it was on them for contaminating the house and all evidence.

Exactly- a kidnapper doesn’t leave a dead body in the house after leaving a randsome note for 118K. Never made sense.

Patsy had on same clothes from the xmas party night before, her hair and make up immaculate like she never went to bed.

I think Burke did it and they covered for their remaining child.

Except DNA evidence cleared all family members.

Criminal profiler John Edward Douglas, who probably knows more about serial killers than anyone else in the world, has always maintained that it was an intruder who killed JonBenet. He would write a best-selling book about it. I believe him.

Remember also, John called his pilot as they wanted to get out of town even though they just found their daughter dead. They refused to talk to police and take polygraphs, they removed Burke from the house immediately.

cops were there within 3 minutes of 5:23am call.

body not found until eight hours later - by the father, not the cops.

“The grand jury say all the evidence and came back with yes, to convict both John and Patsy but the prosecutor over ruled them and didn’t charge them. “

more of your bullshit.

grand jury never recommended indictment for murder:

“A grand jury was convened beginning September 15, 1998 to consider indicting the Ramseys for charges relating to the case. In 1999, the grand jury returned a true bill to charge the Ramseys with placing the child at risk in a way that led to her death and with obstructing an investigation of murder, based on the probable cause standard applied in such grand jury proceedings, but Boulder County District Attorney Alex Hunter did not prosecute them because he did not believe that he could meet the higher standard of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, which is required for a criminal conviction.

Mary Lacy, the next Boulder County District Attorney, took over the investigation from the police on December 26, 2002. In April 2003, she agreed with a federal judge who sat on a 2002 libel case that evidence in the suit is “more consistent with a theory that an intruder murdered JonBenét than it was with a theory that Mrs. Ramsey did”.

Others have wrote books as well and the DNA evidence from her underwear could have been from when the underwear was made and packaged. Every step in this case was blocked by the DA. He protected the family.

“Boulder PD botched the case from the moment they arrived on scene. “

Can you imagine what kind of handjobs run the Boulder PD? Just like Broward County then and now.

Wiki links really?

Here’s another time line

5:30 a.m. — Patsy Ramsey gets up to make coffee and reports finding a two-page note on the back staircase stating that JonBenét had been kidnapped. The note claims to be from “a small foreign faction” demanding a ransom of $118,000 in cash.

5:45 a.m. — Shortly after finding the note, Patsy calls family friends Fleet and Priscilla White and John and Barbara Fernie.

5:52 a.m. — Patsy finally calls the police, detailing the supposed kidnapping and the demands on the ransom note.

5:59 a.m. — Officer French arrives on the scene — the first of many from the Boulder Police Department to respond to the call.

6-8:00 a.m. — Four more officers arrive at the Ramsey residence: policemen Veitch, Weiss, and Barcklow, and their supervisor, Reichenbach. JonBenét’s parents have friends come to help search the home, including the aforementioned Whites, Fernies, and Reverend Hoverstock. Victim advocates and crime scene investigators are also present in the house.

8:10 a.m. — The first detective on the case is Linda Arndt, who immediately begins her investigation. She fails to secure the crime scene.
