Don't answer that. How can one get by, at least for a while, without complying with the ACA?
I thought Trump was going to get rid of the law that said everyone must buy in, especially individuals?
I am very low income, as is a friend of mine, and the fines and policies they want us to carry take a very sizable portion of our meager income. I thought if you made under $17K - $24K you were exempt? The IRS came after us on our filings and every agent or official we speak to is incredulous that we hadn't signed up. One actually asked how we had been able to live without health care? I find it hard to believe that we are the only people in the nation who didn't get in the line to the ovens.
Thoughts? Ideas? How is this in anyway even a slightly free country if everyone must spend a sizable portion of their income as the government see fit?
Think you mean Medeicaid, but that's OK. Most FReepers don't know the difference anyway.

Some foreigners came in for an uninsured procedure at the hospital here. Unfortunately, I came in for the same and was charged double. Found out from the bookkeeping lady. I had to pay the inflated bill. For nothing since the procedure failed.
There are physician groups all over the country, who are cash only, charging a monthly fee that covers labs and xrays as well, for less than $200/month, in most cases. They do not cover major medical (hospitalization), but you can buy a major medical policy through most insurance agencies, for a lot less than obamacare coverage, and cost for both these services are still lots less than a regular policy. If you Google, “ cash only physician groups”, it should get you where you need to go.
Went to the vet yesterday and was told we’d need to get an extra packet of heart worm med for the 108 lb slobber bucket. Was told he was 8 lbs over the limit. Excuse me, no. For that extra $50, he’ll go on a diet. Now I’m a big meany who doesn’t care about the furbabies.
And no, I’m not going to give the heartworm company my info for their lousy $6 rebate.

Nope. And I really dislike it when government officials act like I am some sort of idiot because I don’t know all the latest codes and forms related to them and when asking five different agents getting six different answers as they obviously don’t know themselves what the heck is going on.

My insurance was cancelled due to Obamacare and I flat out Refuse to pay the Extortion Rates they charge now. You would be Amazed at how CHEAP Health Care really is when YOU PAY!!!

I have filed my 8965 every year it was necessary, and even filed it this year, though they seemed to say it was unnecessary.
And I'll file it next year.

OK thanks so much. Yes it better than other rates I was looking at, I went through this whole mess with Obamacare which wanted $550 a month. Yes the opiate overdoses are astronomical. My friends wife works in the ER here on Long Island NY, she’s says every night it’s non stop and all the time they have people on life support from severe brain damage from overdoses. It’s so bad cops have resorted to putting up signs along the highways offering $5000 rewards to anyone who turns in a heroin dealer, we also have a huge problem with MS-13 gangs here no suprise, almost all from El Salvador who came in through Obamas unaccompanied minors scam.
The media is down playing all this, it’s an absolute national emergency, tens of thousands dying every year, a lot of them young adults and teens dying from heroin laced with fentanyl and scum like Pelosi and Schumer have the gall to say Trump is “manufacturing a crisis”.
Look at this, this is 5 years ago. It’s now worse than ever.....
