wasn’t the whole point of sanctuary cities supposed to be to encourage illegals to talk to the police?
So does the left want people talking to the police or not?

Only if it benefits the Protected Groups, of course. Their guiding principle has nothing to do with logic, reason, facts, history, equality or anything else. Their only focus is on benefiting skin color over skin color.

Good. I hope some non-White attacks them, and they do not call the police.

The Big One hit, and the LSM was too busy trashing Trump to bother to report it.

From the article:

First Congregational began 158 years ago as small house church and has been in its current location since 1923. As the Bay Area became a center of leftist social movements in the 1960s and 1970s, the church became known as one of the most politically active in the region. Today, a Black Lives Matter banner hangs from the church’s facade. Inside its sanctuary, black and white banners spell out “truth,” “freedom,” “justice,” and “equality.” Its worship space features a memorial to black Americans who have died in police encounters or custody.

At most, a few dozen people usually show up for Sunday service. Members are largely lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer; about half are white. Its leaders are mostly women, many of whom work in nonprofits, social work and education. Because there’s no paid pastor, members take turns preaching and make all decisions collectively. It took around two years of planning before announcing the police ban.

Good read. Thank!

Heinlein is one of, if not, my favorite writers. With just a little imagination one could easily see themselves in the world he described and it was a fun and interesting one much of the time.

It has been decades since I read any of his books but I still remember them. Can’t say that about all the authors I’ve read.

I have been forced to the conclusion that I am no longer the demographic for which books are written, or for which other forms of entertainment (computer games, video games, tv shows, movies, music) are created.
I keep finding myself re-reading old books that I enjoyed. For instance, The Hobbit seems better each time I read it.
And Hobbit movies get worse each time I read the book...

Pure BS. These type of people call Five-O just like any other and maybe more than others.

LOL! Good luck with that.

Good thing they made a public announcement - helps the criminal element select day targets.

"Lay leader Nichola Torbett is helping to lead the police "divestment" effort."

Man! There is just no way you could make this stuff up! That is one tough looking lantern jawed feminist they've got themselves there. I wonder if they got her passing the plate around during services. "I pity the poor fool who don't tithe right!"

In Democrat-dominated cities the city government and their police all too frequently hold the Constitution in contempt and they consider it an impediment to their goals.

While I am in no way endorsing this church I can say that I can understand how they could get to this point.

There’s just too many documented instances of urban crime victims calling the police only to themselves be arrested, beaten, or killed by the police.

The lady who was shot and killed in Milwaukee after calling the police last year comes to mind as a perfect example.

“99 out of 100 individuals, regardless of color, shot by police NEED shooting.”

Okay, then 1 out of 100 individuals shot by the police were shot wrongfully should have shot the police in self defense.

Right?????

OK, then the other 99 should have been allowed to run loose and wreak havoc on society?

When you analyze wrongful shootings there is almost always a factor (usually underreported) that caused the cop to believe shooting was warranted. The adult-sized twelve year old with the realistic toy gun comes to mind. Reaching into a pocket when told to freeze is another.

All that matters to me is if the shooting is wrongful when committed by a law abiding citizen then it should also be wrongful when committed by law enforcement. There is no clause in the Constitution that grants law enforcement any special rights or a right to kill and I object to the notion that police get special dispensation to shoot and kill just because they represent the Almighty State.

My wife watches the Live PD show on A&E and we both note that in many cases the police are called after a crime has been committed which is the norm, however in many cases the victims know the person who assaulted them and yet won’t tell the cops. My thought is why bother the cops if you don’t want them to apprehend the attacker?

I suspect the church will quickly change their minds at some point when they realize their mistake. The saying of a thin blue line is true and they just told the line to take a hike. Can do, see how it works out for you rev.

the starbucks thing is so lied about....those guys were kindly asked to leave by both the barista and the cops, and businesses can not afford to have people just sitting visiting using the facilities without buying something...those creeps refused...

hey if these people don't want to call the cops, go for it...

its called being vigilantes and usually these leftist commies condemn that if its done by right wingers....

More blacks kill whites and fellow blacks then all the cops in the country, and white people and cops are more often killed by blacks then the reverse...

I'd like to see these idiots get home invaded or car jacked or attacked or raped and then see their response to the cops.....

I would be against "standing armies"...

but the statist can't have it both ways...

either we have cops to protect us or we are allowed to protect ourselves...

When cops do wrongfully shoot someone there are consequences, as there should be. If they got a pass every time that would be different. It is only in a police state that no police shooting is “wrongful”.
