Do you know enough about local conditions to assert we don't need guest workers? My mind tries to tell me we have plenty of "workers" to fill the spots but my eyes and ears tell me that they actually tend to not want to do the work...may be plenty willing to do the work but if they ain't in the right areas, how does the work get done?
The concept of not using them sounds great - but most of those making the assertions really have nothing but their opinions and instincts to work on and have no clue about the actual big picture.
My mind tries to tell me we have plenty of "workers" to fill the spots but my eyes and ears tell me that they actually tend to not want to do the workI don't want to go to my job either - but my employer pays me enough to overcome that. It's called supply, demand, and the market-clearing price.
