Plastic takes a very long time to break down, and when broken down in the waters to molecular size it can cause filter-feeders near the bottom of the food chain to starve to death with full bellies. Herring, Bunker, Sardines and other forage fish as well.
The problem is that the enviros lie about so many other things, it becomes the “boy who cried wolf” when they are truthful.
