You can order a Quarter Pounder with cheese without cheese, but you will still pay for the cheese.

Not the right way to look at it.
The quarter pounder costs the same, whether it’s with or without cheese. You can get it any way you want, with or without certain toppings, but it’s the same price no matter what’s on it.
