President Donald Trump backed an NFL rule change Wednesday that bans kneeling during the national anthem and hits violators with fines.
However, the president — who instigated the new policy with his withering rebuke of players refusing to stand during the tribute to America — said the measure doesn't go far enough.
'I don’t think people should be staying in the locker rooms,' he told Fox & Friends in a pre-taped interview that aired on Thursday's program. 'You shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there. Maybe they shouldn’t be in the country.'

The fans did this but I do not think this new policy will bring them back.
This ain’t over by a long shot.
NFL was either losing, or forecasted losing money. This has nothing to do with patriotism, the fans or the players.
Ticket sales were down last year and those who had them wanted refunds!!!
They are here. Not much the government can do about that.
Load the NFL kneelers on a C-5, give them a parachute, a weapon, and drop them off in the hills of Afganistan for a few days. Let’s see how big and brave they are then. If they return, they may have more respect for the flag and national anthem.
Would love to see how they react should they be pinned down and surrounded by the enemy with incoming fire and they look up and see a USAF fighter or chopper covering their rear ends with a US flag emblem on the aircraft. Perhaps that flag would mean a little more to the cowards as their lives are on the line.

I’ve never been a big fan of patriotic displays.
But these VASTLY OVERPAID players (of a childrens’ game)

they should not be permitted to continue enjoying such

Notice what Trump just did.
He highlighted the fact that the NFL was still allowing players to sit in the locker room. The average person really thought the NFL caved but they didn’t.
