If he claims squater status or refugee, they will be stuck with him regardless of relation.

Failure to launch????
I wonder about the back story. How was this kid raised? What events got them to this point, that their son is unable or unwilling to live an independent adult life?
To: C19fan
I think there was a movie about this several years ago

That order capped a surreal 30-minute court appearance in which Rotondo didn't deny that his parents had given him multiple orders to leave their 408 Weatheridge Drive home. But Rotondo wasn't going to leave without a legal battle.
Sheesh, what a loser!

Tough love. Sadly they waited far too long to take that course of action. But better late than never. He will either sink or swim, but my guess when he sinks, they will come to his rescue as they always have.

I’m a bit of a slacker now at age 62 but at age 30 no way. Age 30 is prime for working and being productive, He’s a no good leech if he hangs around and doesn’t work or earn his way. The moron could have lived home, worked, paid some rent there and saved a bunch of $$. Getting the boot he deserves.

Back in the 70s a twenty something doofuss worked with us.
One day he came in all dejected with red eyes.
Seems that the evening before he had arrived home to his family’s apartment to find his parents gone. There was a note however, that informed him that his folks had moved to another state, that they had made a deposit into his bank account, that they had paid the rent for the next couple of months, that he could have the furnishings and that they wished him well.

I hope the parents have their lawyer on speed dial if they need an order of protection.

Worst case scenario: sell the house, don’t give him the forwarding address.

I knew a fellow that left home at the age of 35. A wee lad that was almost too young to go.
He had a good job, wasn’t lazy, and was a really intelligent guy.
