Celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, and Natalie Portman have signed an open letter calling for an end to gender inequality.

The stars are among 140 signatories from the entertainment industry, which also include Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Reynolds, Amy Schumer and Thandie Newton, who have shown their support for the campaign, spearheaded by international charity ONE.

The letter is addressed to world leaders, who are told they have been put "on notice" to take action to put an end to the inequality, claiming that it leaves 130 million girls without an education and one billion women without access to a bank account.

"There is nowhere on earth where women have the same opportunities as men, but the gender gap is wider for women living in poverty," the letter reads. "Poverty is sexist. And we won't stand by while the poorest women are overlooked.

I’m sure that will be all it takes to fix the entire world. What a relief.

Sure, I’d love to have Oprah’s wealth, power, and access. Bring it on.

Do they plan to do anything other than sign a letter?

Give everybody an 'A' for every course they take at school. Pay everybody $15/hr for every job they do. Take all of Oprah's money, and all that of these economic geniuses, and give everybody an equal share.

That's equality, right?

So are they advocating chopping it off - for all males - or attaching an appendage - for all females?

How come they didn’t write this open letter when Obama was King Of The World?

So glad to see Amy Schumer on the list of signators. I’m sure she would love to command a salary commensurate with Reese Witherspoon or Ryan Reynolds. But there is no way on God’s green Earth I would ever go to a flick with her in it.

Let’s see the quality of films when all of these snowflakes get paid the same. Time for a salary cap in Hollywood, right around $65k annually. If it’s good enough for the average American, it should be good enough for Hollywood.

There should also be a maximum amount a studio can earn on any film. Let’s see if that idea has wings!

No one called for Oprah to stop eating all the food to end world hunger?

Good idea.

Let’s start with equality in life insurance rates; car insurance rates.

‘Mens night’ in bars where the male drinks for free and the women pay.

How about evening up the score in family court where the father gets fair consideration?

Next, let’s form a #MeToo for all the men and boys who have been sexually assaulted by women or couldn’t fend off sexual advances. Let’s have men destroy a woman’s career in a heartbeat based on a vague allegation of an ‘unwanted hug’.

Let’s get rid of Title IX and the ridiculous application of it in all areas of life.

Affirmative Action, preferential treatment in hiring.

This is only a partial list.

Men often make more because:
1. they work outside in uncomfortable conditions
2. the work they do requires a bath or shower after the work day is done
3. they bring to work their own expensive tools and equipment
4. their work often has traditionally been subject to economic downturns
5. their work is often dangerous

Yes, you will.

You are _way_ too gutless to bring your campaign to any country that won't pamper you..

This is pathetic virtue signaling.

These clowns keep forgetting, that says NOTHING for gals like me who NEVER felt inferior to anyone let alone a man.

I don’t know where all that whiney crap came from. None of them ‘get’ how the world works. The ‘world’ and life are always too much for them-always just a little past their ability to understand.
