Makes sense, *generally.
It’s a certainty that McCain was not for a moment *AGAINST* Obama in that election, I can tell you that.

I always thought McCain threw the thing, when he picked Palin. He was so all fired militaristic and judicious and such a sage... he knew very well the DS was not going to accept Palin as a VP on that ticket.

It probably saved her life, literally, that ticket lost.

I felt like the Palin pick was to make it seem more legit. She had the easy thing that the old tea party could latch on too and give him enough votes that would have likely gone to a third party. Unidentified party says no to third party.

I thought he/DS picked Palin to deliberately sabotage the ticket, thinking that “sexist” conservatives would not vote for a woman. Palin energized the campaign! Big mistake if you’re trying to lose.

So then no name suspends the campaign to go vote for TARP or whatever. He looks like a complete nincompoop. I think that was done to derail the enthusiasm that Palin brought.
