The dog is a service animal trained to help a person who is deaf. Not a "support" ferret.
Timothy Manly should be arrested for assault, pure and simple.
Maybe there should be a limit on size of dog allowed for service.
That stated, this woman is deaf, her dog probably actually does perform some service.
And why complain about allergies and size at the END of the trip? Wouldn’t that come up early?

Mine, who’s a bit small, is a 120 lb. male. He’s eight years old and in excellent health, which is great because it’s going to hurt like Hell when I finally lose him. One of the two greatest dogs I’ve ever had. He’d be a bit much in steerage on a plane, since he takes up as much space as a small woman.

Given that the initiated a verbal altercation I wonder how read they are and which website they got their service dog ticket punched.
Tim Manley is a jerk. But, aside from that, if the airlines are going to assist on allowing service animals, there should be a dedicated section for them, preferably in a section with families traveling with screaming infants.
If Mr. Manley punched my dog, I would hurt him very badly.
I don’t understand why a deaf woman needs a “service animal” but if it’s really needed and has to be a Great Dane then they are going to have to buy that animal his own seat! Dawg those dogs are bigger than a Siberian Husky.
It’s one thing if you need a service animal but still you should show common courtesy to others.

Either United or American just ok’d mini horses. A few years back the wife was on a plane with a mini horse. It was very well behaved.
