OKLAHOMA Update: the veterinarian who handled the dogs that killed Tracy Garcia, 52, in Ardmore posted this on the Westwood Veterinary Hospital Facebook page: Westwood Veterinary Hospital, Inc. 3 hrs "We have been receiving a lot of negative messages regarding the breeds of dogs involved in the terrible attack Thursday night. I believe that people are missing the point regarding the breeds of dogs that were involved. A woman died. The dogs appear to me to be a pit bull and 4 pit-bull mix puppies. Who knows what the female was. She looked to me like an Australian Shepherd mixed with something with short legs. It was tragic. The person who made a statement about the breed previously works at the shelter, not here.- Dr. Aldridge" www.facebook.com/westwoodvthosp/?hc_ref=ARRMUCIOuiLVMxXWceYxE4zK1ztn7_1G5lj-gg_V7aqJiZE94KkGbtT_I... ... Seven dogs is way too many.
You may want to go to the facebook page for the whole quote, which is much clearer. Apparently, someone (possibly at the shelter, not this Vet) is trying to deny any pitbulls involved. The owner of the dogs still has not been identified in any newsmedia accounts I can find.
So the veterinarian said that the “dogs appear” “to be a pit bull and 4 pit-bull mix puppies.”
But the Sheriff said, in essence, according to the article, that there was no pit bull.
“’This is a bad situation, a very unfortunate situation,’ Bryant said. ‘Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victims. This is just a bad deal all the way around.’”
He’s not a sheriff that I would vote for.
The lesson to be learned here is to never leave your house without your best friends, Messrs Smith and Wesson.
Pitbull owners are criminal scum.
