In response to Spotifys newly launched Hate Content and Hateful Conduct public policy, womens advocacy group UltraViolet is calling on the streaming service to widen its net beyond R. Kelly and XXXTentacion, which were the first acts to see their music removed from promotional playlists.
UltraViolet, a national organization working on a range of issues including reproductive rights, healthcare, economic security, violence and racial justice, published an open letter Monday to Spotify head Daniel Ek, applauding a recent decision to pull Kelly and XXXTentacions music from playlists and algorithmic recommendations.
However, the group is also imploring that the policy be expanded to give the same treatment to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nelly, Eminem, Don Henley, Steven Tyler, 6ix9ine and Chris Brown acts that have been accused of abusing or harassing women.

The streaming giant said it partnered with rights advocacy groups, including the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Anti-Defamation League, Color of Change, Showing Up for Racial Justice, GLAAD, Muslim Advocates and the International Network Against Cyber Hate

Frank Zappa’s family endorsed Al Gore for president in 2000 as did Dee Snyder (who was celebrated by the so-called RnR HoF for speaking out against music censorship).
Endorsing the beast that trafficked in this issue PURELY to get attention to run for President should be negate any other activity done on the issue.
Al Gore doesn’t live as if he cares about consuming the Earth’s resources, either.
And Tipper Gore has been silent on the gutter culture for decades since.
Haha....love it when the Left eat their own....
God I hope so. The last time I listened to his music, I cried, and then I lied and then I died...
I got better.

Men lie about that spoonful
Some cry about that spoonful
Some die about that spoonful
Everybody fight about a spoonful
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
Maybe. Was his girlfriend in a coma?
