When I’m refusing to argue with someone I like to say something like “well that may be” or “you may be right”. They’re not right. But I don’t have to argue the point.
Both are good. So many possibilities without attacking the person.
Had a teacher at my school once that used to tell students - you are wrong, but that’s ok you can blame your ignorance.
Sometimes he’d get mad and throw his chalk, and say live in your ignorance and see if I care.
He really didn’t have the right temperament for the job. Certain student types of course delighted in pulling his chain to see if they could get him to throw his chalk.
We really used to groan when it got started - here they go again. However, we kinda liked it when it was test day after a ballgame - occupied time, and the test was put off a day so we got to study.
Group dynamics can be interesting, as well as frustrating.
