Dozens of quakes were reported in and around Ocotillo Wells in Imperial County, six of them larger than a magnitude 3, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The largest were felt in a scattering of locations in Imperial, San Diego and Riverside counties, according to the USGS.
Seismologist Lucy Jones said on Twitter that the quakes were occurring along the southern end of the San Jacinto fault system...
Earthquake swarms are nothing new to Imperial County, which is one of more seismically active parts of California.
1979, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake sent violent shaking into El Centro, injuring 91 and causing so much damage to the concrete Imperial County Services Building that it had to be demolished.

One of those places I always wanted to go back to but never got around to it. This video was popular at the time I was there and always takes me back.
Blue Angels had their winter home in El Centro. Used to watch them practice all the time, along with Fat Albert.
Come on Baby, give us that 10.0 along the San Andreas, don’t forget to bring in the massive Tsunami to clean up Los Angeles afterwards.

I loved that song but hadn’t heard it in years. Probably because it came out in 1983 when I was overseas. didn’t get much air time in Australia, but I heard it when I came back in 1984 and I was like, why haven’t I heard this excellent song before?, LOL!
You know how “Classic Rock” or “80’s” stations seem to play the same song list of 100-200 songs over and over?
It’s rare to hear a song I liked but hadn’t listened to in decades.

Oh no, there’s quite a story that led up to that. This wasn’t just your typical “drunken Marine meets girl in bar and ends up in her trailer” type story. There’s a whole backstory involved. I would love to tell it someday but I will need some time to set it up properly.
My Buddy Larry (that gravy sucking pig) bought an old army barrack in Ocotillo Wells, He was gonna retire there, then the well got tainted with benzene from a long gone gas station.
Ahh well, he had a hillbilly hot tub, full of benzene
Did you feel the earth move?
One of those places you always wanted to go back to? Do you think she still lives there?
