Pit Bull Involved UPDATE 05/11/18: Carter County Sheriff Chris Bryant confirmed that one of the dogs involved in the mauling death of a woman Thursday was a pit bull. The six others were medium-sized dogs of other breeds. All seven dogs belong to the same owner. The attack happened at a residence just before 10 pm on Banyon Road. "Once we were notified that this female had succumbed to her injuries," the owner of the dogs decided to put the remaining dogs down, Sheriff Bryant said.

KXII reports that arriving officers shot and killed one of the dogs that charged them. The animals belonged to one of the victim's neighbors. "Anytime you go to a dog bite call or a dog is attacking people in general, it is disturbing," Bryant said. "Our prayers are with the family of the victim, and the rest of the community because this is a very unfortunate situation." Authorities are still investigating the fatal pack attack. There is no leash law in unincorporated parts of Carter County.

Photos of the seven deceased dogs released from the Ardmore Animal Shelter show one pit bull, five dachshund-(pit bull) terrier mixes and a longhaired mixed breed, which Shelter Co-director Tena Layton previously said could be the mother of the younger dogs. Authorities have not identified the dogs' owner or the victim. Sheriff Chris Bryant said that autopsy results will be forwarded to the district attorney's . . .

Pictures of the (deceased) 7 dogs that attacked the still-unidentified deceased woman, apparently a neighbor, can be seen here:

You appear to have an obsession with this particular breed.

Seven dogs, not valued enough to be properly leashed, kenneled, supervised or trained. Seven dogs allowed to form their own pack. All with some level of pit bull genetics.
Was the owner protecting marijuana plants or perhaps a meth lab? Who needs seven savage like dogs , most of unremarkable heritage? We may never know. Since all the animals were quickly put down, and the poor woman is deceased, the owner will get a low level of public scrutiny.
Rest in peace, my sister in Christ.

Another story:

Owner of dogs that mauled Oklahoma City woman to death charged with manslaughter

"The owner of two dogs that mauled an 82-year-old woman to death in April was charged Wednesday with second-degree manslaughter."
Another dead victim, Cecile short:

Yet another story:

Oh no, even another story:

And on, and on, and on—and these three stories are just in Oklahoma alone, and only the tip of the iceberg. You barely have to scratch the surface to find dozens more similar tales of horror.

Antwon Demetris Burks

Another member of that upstanding ethnic group which has so richly blessed our prison system. Mr. Dreadlocks was last arrested in 2014.

My neighbor has a pit bull. It wants to kill me and the feeling is mutual.

Yes, I understand it wants to protect its territory, but it seems to believe that my back yard is included in that territory.

If it ever gets loose, it will come after me. One of us will die.

My family had a ranch located in Carter County that was in the Southwest area of the county and a couple of miles north of the Red River. We don't have the ranch any longer but do have the mineral rights.

Persons acquainted with or certainly active in ranching and farming are acquainted with the problems and hazards of wild dogs running in packs. They take down livestock and are more dangerous than coyotes. In our case, the beat up ranch pickup and pretty much all the neighbor ranch's trucks I was acquainted with had a gun rack in the back window with a rifle at the ready. We shot stray dogs on sight. Occasionally, the Winchester would be in a scabbard when using a horse when we were doing something like riding a few miles of fence or checking some more remote corners that you otherwise had to go in on foot. I still have that 30-30 Winchester and have taken several deer with it. I imagine most ranchers now would choose something on the AR platform to get better range and accuracy.

Our last ranch dog was was a mutt that was a cross bred standard collie with a Saint Bernard. Biggest damn collie you ever saw with a working dog's instinct to protect the cattle and people too if it ever came to that. We rarely saw coyotes but for the occasional wild dog singles or packs, I never saw any willing to stand up to our dog. When they saw that big dog coming off they'd go running. He'd run them till the pack crossed the fence line then stop - His job was done. I saw the picture of the seven dogs and they were either ill bred pitbulls or mix breed pits. I hope the owner faces some prison time. This is nothing less than murder on their part.

No place for pit bulls or other attack dogs in normal conditions. Area wide leash laws are needed if owners cant be responsible. Dog packs are eventually dangerous and that includes too many “pets” which are often just a bunch of fed undisciplined mutts.

There is no place, use or need for these dog packs people keep.

“...if you have any issues with livestock or animals or anything like that, please give us a call.”

Yeah, I’ll be giving you a call whilst 7 dogs rip my lungs out, sure, that’s the ticket!
