In some other contexts, bracketed integer numbers seem to me a count of how many have been flagged by team-Q. There are 48 corrupt persons, with corruption in the Iran deal at a level that that "got them on a list."
Others have speculated that [48] is Pence (he's the US 48th VP), but that makes no sense to me.
I've also seen 48 being viewed as referring to the 48th rule of power. Link to that just above. I don't find that fits in this context either.
My first reaction was that "We await your answer" is a call for public demand, in whatever form it takes to cause the corruption to be revealed. Who knows the deal was corrupt? How to put pressure on that cohort - the group that knows but didn't participate directly (the press, and a good number of mid-level officials in banking, state, cia).

That’s an excellent answer. The people rose up once to demand that the texts be released. This does sound like a request to repeat the same grass roots upheaval. The difference is that this request doesn’t have the long, slow buildup to encourage an uprising. It’s too abrupt and probably won’t get the reaction he wants.
