The morphin takes away the pain and they die in their sleep. Held one of my friends hand She had a relatively easy death. Wonderful Christian who loved the Lord. “IM not afraid of dying just afraid of pain”. Her loving doctor made sure she felt no pain.

My brother, may he rest in peace, finished his last couple of days on this earth with a morphine drip. It’s a long story, but he was handicapped and he took a fall at his residence (assisted living) and hit his head hard. Went into a coma from which he was not going to emerge. We siblings got together and made the decision to take him off life support, only because he would never really be truly alive again, even on life support.

God took him about a day later. My nephew was the only one in the room that evening, the rest of us having gone back to my sister’s house for some food. I think he waited for us to leave before he let go.

Always a little concerned about our decision, but in the end, I think it was God’s will that we let him go. It was his time.

A little tear in my eye...
