My brother, may he rest in peace, finished his last couple of days on this earth with a morphine drip. It’s a long story, but he was handicapped and he took a fall at his residence (assisted living) and hit his head hard. Went into a coma from which he was not going to emerge. We siblings got together and made the decision to take him off life support, only because he would never really be truly alive again, even on life support.
God took him about a day later. My nephew was the only one in the room that evening, the rest of us having gone back to my sister’s house for some food. I think he waited for us to leave before he let go.
Always a little concerned about our decision, but in the end, I think it was God’s will that we let him go. It was his time.
A little tear in my eye...
Regards ;(
It’s difficult. I was with my friend because our pastor had taken family for food. He prepared me that my friend might possibly die as is often the case. She died at night “in her sleep”. Those decisions are never easy. That why my parents both had living wills to make the decision for us. Thank God we never had to activate either.
Hugs and prayers for you and yours
So sorry for your loss.
