'Sexuality educator' Deanne Carson says she works with families to 'set up a culture of consent' in homes
TYPICALLY when a babys nappy needs changing, you go ahead and change it no questions asked.
But one sexuality expert has left parents baffled after claiming they should ask their babies for permission before they change their dirty nappies.
Deanne Carson works with children to understand the issues of consent and describes herself as a sexuality educator, speaker, and author on Twitter.
Discussing her work in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Deanne said she works with children from three years old and parents from birth to raise awareness of consent.
When questioned about their young age, Deanne said that she works with families to set up a culture of consent in their homes".
She recommends parents say:Im going to change your nappy now, is that okay?
While she acknowledged that a baby is unlikely to actually give consent, Deanne suggests parents "leave a space and wait for body language and wait to make eye contact then youre letting that child know that their response matters.
Bemused viewers were quick to take to Twitter, with one commenting: Im not hearing this right surely.
Another added: Absolute lunacy. The world has gone completely mad.
I've noticed that *sexuality* experts all have sexual issues of their own.
This *expert* knows nothing of children and child raising and is putting the wrong person in charge in the home.
What happens if the baby will not grant permission?
If the baby doesn’t give permission to change its dirty diaper, then parent and child should seek government approved counciling. Any “sexuality expert” with purple hair ... Well, I’ll say no more...
Cannot find any kind of educational back ground on this yob. Shes an activist ya know. Shes a presenter ya see?
My bet? Shes never ever raised a child
They will at an appropriate age.....somewhere before going off to college
These people are just insecure attention whores. They say the most outrageous over the top things merely to generate outrage and give them the attention they crave. They are best ignored.
Our grandson, who is 15 months old, is in a stage where he shakes his head “no” to anything we ask him (except “do you want something to eat”). I guess the poor little guy will have to endure dirty diapers(I hate the term “nappy”) for another six months or so...
It gets crazier everyday.
Oh exactly
I always enjoyed diaper changing time....not the dirty diaper as such It was always time to play nosies and toesies and to blow raspberries on a bare tummy and to laugh and giggle
Nah the troll is cuter
Absolute complete unadulterated leftist lunacy.
I can see following this loons advice, asking permission to change diapers, baby does not answer (because it cannot talk yet), so a parent equally as loony as this educator thinks the answer is “No”, and leaves filled diapers. Then along comes a social worker to take away baby due to neglect. A perfect leftist scenario.
The only pant load in this article is the pink haired attention seeking freak.
More importantly, and disturbing, is this sort of absurd article is part and parcel of todays media. In a desperate attempt at clicks, the MSM seeks out the societal fringe. With enough absurd stories in print, the average reader might think society is falling apart. Its not. Although the normalization of these stories will have a long term corrosive effect on society.
Is her hair color the result of mommy not asking her permission to change her diapers? What a looney toon.
What does a purple-haired lesbian know about babies?
So when the kid refuses to potty train by age 5, and has huge loads of poop squishing out the sides of the diaper and into your furniture and car, is she going to pay for the replacements? Sounds like she should be held accountable for her idiocy. Bet she changes her mind real quick. Consent goes in two directions, and as a human being, I don’t consent to 5 year old poopie brats in my house, or in public.
People actually hire and pay this idiot? That’s amazing in itself.
Building trust, eh? If you trust someone to care for you, they don’t have to ask. Infants recognize strangers around 9 months.
I always hears an expert is an ex-spurt which is a former drip that’s still at it.
