ALVORD, Texas An elementary school principal in North Texas is discontinuing her tradition of birthday spankings to students after parents complained.
KTVT-TV reports that Alvord Independent School District Superintendent Randy Brown released a Tuesday statement announcing an end to the spankings at Alvord Elementary School. Brown says the district received two complaints about Principal Bridget Williams tradition.

When my wife was a high school student in the 70s, the Principal (a guy) liked to snap the girls’ bra straps in the back. He did it to her, and it came loose.
She was too embarrased to say anything. She only confided to me, years later.

Birthday spankings were commonplace when I was a kid in Oregon. A swat for each year. A boy or girl just turned eight would get eight swats, plus “...and one to grow an inch!”
They were normally administered by Daddy or Grandma, though, not the principle.
She can spank me anytime!
