Felony charges against 62 more bikers in the 2015 Twin Peaks shootout were dismissed Tuesday, the largest of several rounds of recent dismissals.
Judge Ralph Strother of 19th State District Court signed dismissals requested by the McLennan County District Attorney's office for 42 cases Tuesday morning, which stated it was dismissing the cases to focus on "more culpable" defendants.
Tuesday afternoon Judge Matt Johnson signed an additional 20 dismissals in the 54th State District Court, bringing the day's total to 62 cases.
"I was very happy to sign the dismissals," Judge Strother said Tuesday.
With the dismissals, only about one-third of those originally arrested in the Twin Peaks incident are still facing charges.
The May 17, 2015 shootout between rival Cossacks and Bandidos motorcycle clubs in the parking lot of Waco's Twin Peaks restaurant left nine dead and 20 wounded. On that day, 177 people were arrested at the direction of District Attorney Abel Reyna, facing identical charges of engaging in organized criminal activity on underlying charges of murder and aggravated assault.
After the incident, 155 bikers were indicted, but 117 of those have now been dismissed, leaving 38 still under indictment. Only one defendant, Jacob Carrizal, a Bandido chapter president from Dallas, has been tried in the shootout, and his case ended in a mistrial in November. His retrial is set for Sept. 10 in 54th State District Court.
Among those dismissed Tuesday were Christopher Julian Carrizal, father of Jacob Carrizal. The elder Carrizal was wounded in the shootout.

“Don’t touch me there”
LOLOL
You are just merciless.
I like that in a person.
Quite simply we don’t know. Waco refuses to release ballistics or forensics reports.
Given that and other things that the Waco DA and authorities have done, it’s looking an awful lot like the police were the only ones responsible for fatalities.
I thought that is what I remembered, but I could have been wrong. If I remember correctly, the bikers had gotten into a brawl with each other, and the police came in shooting. My way of thinking is this, If the bikers want to fight, let them. They are only hurting themselves.
Or, if you must break up the fight, break it up and arrest the participants. Don’t arrest everyone in visual range whether they were involved or not. Waco did the latter.
But Waco isn’t releasing the ballistics, Waco isn’t releasing the forensics, Waco has been lying, desperately attempting to cover up *something* and run out the clock. Those events and their boilerplate warrants charging everyone arrested with the exact same crimes no matter what the circumstances were have been indicating that it is likely the police were likely the only actual killers at this scene. Maybe not the only shooters but there’s no way to tell for sure with how Waco’s been hiding things.
Thanks Again for the update
They ought to be able to sue for the disruption in their lives - there’s at least one Texas FReeper who is deeply saddened though....he knows who he is.
lol....
TG has asked me to not ping him/her to these threads, so I won’t. Then I got a PM from the poster. I’m not going to respond to that one.
Your mileage may vary.
You made a lot of nasty inferrences on this topic.
Crazy rants insiting that because violent biker gangs existed in California decades ago, a stuffy political meeting about motorcycle laws in Texas had to be a gang rumble if any of the people who attended were big scary looking guys. At a popular restaurant on a Sundays
You made those rants to people who have attended said stuffy meetings.
Who knew this could not have been what was alledged.
Your behavior is being called to account as the wild allegations you flung about so glibly are disproven. The site etiquette is to ping you. Even if it is to a helping of crow.
A bit more mea culpa, and a bit less indignation on your part would work out better for you.
T Gator never really had anything useful to add.
We figured out his schtick pretty fast.
Thanks for the reality intervention.
Now he is a little bit closer to getting the help he so desperately needs!
ha!!
Ha!
We do owe a back-handed debt to TG, though.
Without his wild-eye rants, the Cult Of The Subhuman might never have been born.
:D
You don't...I know...but you are a liar...and I have the proof.
Sucks to have your words recorded on the internet. Don't it..!!!
Nope don't hear a one....
