The “highly concerned” don’t give a rat’s hind end about the environment, they want money and control for themselves at the expense of everyone else’s liberty, earnings and property, and this hoax is just a tool.

IOW, those of us who aren’t activist nut cases do what we can to protect the environment while the nut cases crap all over it and demand everyone else does something....
