ROCKLEDGE, FL (CBS Local) – A Florida community has rallied behind a mother of three who was ordered to remove a rainbow flag from her lawn. According to reports, an email was sent to the woman’s landlord, which compared the symbol of LGBTQ rights to the Confederate flag.
Jennifer Raymond, a resident in the Ashwood Lakes subdivision of Rockledge, has reportedly flown the rainbow flag outside her family’s home for the last two years. Raymond told local reporters that her landlord recently received an email from a member on the neighborhood’s architectural review committee. The email claimed that Raymond’s flag violated the community’s rules of hanging anything besides the American, state, or military flags.
The problem with the member’s claims was that the neighborhood bylaws don’t mention flags at all. When presented with this information, the unidentified board member wrote, “allowing the flag to be flown is setting a precedence for other homeowners to fly other offensive flags – for example, the Confederate flag,” according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“The Confederacy supported slavery,” Raymond added. “(The rainbow flag is) a symbol of equality and acceptance of all.”
News of the controversial email quickly spread, culminating in a rally of at least two dozen residents on April 29 in support of the lesbian mother’s right to fly her flag. “I couldn’t keep up with how fast things were happening, really,” Raymond added.
Prior to the rally, the homeowners association in Rockledge had already informed Raymond that she could continue to fly the rainbow flag and the person who sent the erroneous letter acted alone. The HOA added that they would be taking steps to make sure other homeowners are not harassed in the same way moving forward.

No it isn't. It is the symbol of the GAYstapo which, among other things, financially destroyed a Christian baker in Oregon for refusing to bow down to their demands.
When I see one of those things flying outside a hotel, for example, I assume that I as a monogamous heterosexual am not welcome. I also understand the type of crowd that establishment wishes to cater to and, while momentarily offended, I get over it.
Nonetheless, I would support the right of that woman to fly this bigoted flag on her own private property so long as the right of any other homeowner to fly the flag of their choice (including the Confederate flag) is not infringed upon.

It never works that way.
Any lawyer who represents an HOA will advise his client to strictly enforce anything remotely resembling a restriction in their bylaws or governing rules against public displays of any kind of material. As one such lawyer once told me:
"If you don't tell one homeowner to take down his Dallas Cowboys flag today, you can't tell another one to take down his ISIS flag next week."
Yet, US flags must never be flown.

Regardless, the takeaway from this story is to NEVER buy a home in an association community. You don’t really own your home.
Actually, a rainbow is a Christian symbol which has been hijacked.
Slavery existed for far longer under the Stars and Stripes not to mention all the slave trading that was done under it (we haven’t even gotten to ethnic cleansing and genocide of native people, wars of aggression, internment of Japanese-Americans, etc). So if the Confederate battle flag is offensive, the Stars and Stripes must be even more offensive. Right?
The fag flag is far more offensive and divisive than the Cross of St. Andrews. The deviants have co-opted a biblical sign from God. Sodomites should be driven back underground.
But if it was a US flag, these same people would be screaming at her to take it down.
