They aren’t open yet because they are still growing the investigation out and if they open some then the other investigations will be exposed. Remember most investigations start at the bottom and work their way up - so to get the big fish they have to make sure they aren’t exposed too soon.

Let me tell you a true story.
I had a sailor from one of my ships (not my division we had our own problem children) who was on temporary duty (TAD) on the base order to take a class. He had a shared room in the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ). We were home-ported in Yokosuka Japan.

One of the BEQ regulations was that if you weren’t in the room you had to keep your footlocker locked to prevent thieves and trouble between sailors. Another reg was that there were weekly and spot inspections by the MPs, watch standers, and Duty Officers.

Well one day he forgot to lock his footlocker while he was at class. The duty petty officer did a spot check. Procedure required he write up our sailor and call the MPs in order to inventory the footlocker’s content - this was partly to ensure no one on watch stole anything.

Low and behold - they found a few rounds of ammunition, some drugs, and a bunch of keys. The keys were for lockers at the train stations out in the city off base.

Well, now they have more than enough to 1) go arrest him for the contraband and 2) request a warrant for additional searches. I don’t believe they found any additional items in the BEQ....but those train lockers???

Well to get into those we had to take our information and warrant to the Yokosuka police and request a combined investigation. NO PROBLEM say the Japanese police. Now the fun began.

Every locker they opened produced - weapons, drugs, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and .... more locker keys.

After 3 months they took him to trial in the Japanese court system. He got life in the Status of Forces Prison (SOFA Prison) for running arms and drugs into Japan. If here ever gets out he gets tried by the US under the UCMJ for additional charges not covered in the Japanese trial.

Guy had a real back story with some odd political connections or something. Supposedly had been kicked out of Japan once before but the Navy messed up allowing him to come back due to some political pressure or something. But now he was too far gone.

At one point he claimed he was going on a hunger strike. Now the SOFA prison is setup to ensure that the prisoners get a customary US diet and not the normal Japanese prison fare. So...the Japanese just let him not eat and put him in solitary. They’d go to the door and offer food - if he said no they’d leave. After a while they opened the door brought in a table and put a big steak and potatoes and greens on the table ... and left. They came back a while later - plate was clean - and put him back into his regular cell. Wah-lah no more hunger strike.

Back to the investigation. Here’s the kicker - the Japanese case wasn’t completely finished... they were still opening lockers by the time his case was sentenced a year later. So there were still additional Japanese charges to follow through on as well. Why? They were finding additional people to charge. Some got away after different stages when it was discovered that he’d been a) arrested, b) charged and c) prosecuted. The longer that those are held up the fewer escape the net. Unfortunately Navy scuttlebutt moves too fast sometimes.

The cases WILL come and we WILL see justice - we may find out some weren’t as easy to charge as others.... but the disruption, legal taking of fortunes, destruction of reputations, and elimination of support systems will be rampant. I’m looking forward to it.

The Bagster Sun-Times crack reporters have unearthed video of the actual arrest of this low-down, dirty dog.

If it's one thing in this world I hate, it's an unlocked foot locker.

Thanx for that, reed.

I have someone in my family just angry, cynical and depressed to the point where if it isn’t headlined on the regular news, it doesn’t matter. No amount of explaining elicits more than a weary nod. They don’t lack understanding of the process, just been beaten down by a lifetime of watching these perps skate and continue on their merry way while destroying everyone else. Unfortunately, this person has friends who think similarly, so they reinforce each other.

Lots of intelligent, experienced people out there who are simply protecting themselves from what they see as inevitable. They believe Trump is great, but even 2 terms aren’t enough and once the progs inevitably regain power, we’re in for total and utter scorched earth retribution from them, no matter what results are obtained prior.

You can read their posts all over the main forum. They sneer at us because they honestly think we are deluded.
