The reason the US has a high infant mortality rate is because we take every possible measure to save premature babies, many don't make it. Other countries don't even bother Another reason is that many nations don't count infant deaths until an infant reaches 15 days of age. . . any infant that dies prior to that is simply not counted.

I used to work with radical lefties in a public employee union. They were discussing how to get single payer health insurance passed. Our lobbyist was throwing out talking points and said that our country had the world’s highest infant mortality rate. I said they must be counting all the abortions. Silence and shocked looks around the table, LOL.
