LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police Department officials on Wednesday released dramatic body-camera video from three officers involved in a shootout with a robbery suspect who later died from his injuries.
Demonjhea Jordan, 21, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, died from gunshot wounds at University of Louisville Hospital after he was shot in the 500 block of 29th Street on Tuesday, Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Wayne Pryse said.
One officer in pursuit of Jordan fired multiple shots from inside his cruiser, through the windshield, before he got out of the car. After Jordan went down, another officer went down to the ground, surrounded by colleagues, wondering if he'd been hit. But Aaron Crowell, who leads LMPD's Public Integrity Unity, said none of the officers had been shot.
"Officers are trained to deal with threats with whatever tools they have," Crowell said.
LMPD Chief Steve Conrad said the confrontation with officers started around noon Tuesday after a robbery was reported at the Metro PCS store at 2600 W. Market Stree
Officers who responded put out a description of the suspect. Conrad said 1st Division officers spotted Jordan, who matched that description, walking in the 500 block of N. 29th Street, about a block from their station.
Jordan was wounded during an exchange of gunfire with the officers and died later Tuesday afternoon at the hospital.

Not to be insulting or anything but during my limited number of encounters with Louisville (Fort Knox 1969-70) it didn’t strike me as a particularly prosperous city.Easy to see how it might not have been the safest or calmest one either.
No wabbit stew tonight.
No, that’s Bill Cosby’s new prison name...
How do you even begin to pronounce that name?
Did his mother think it would help him get a job?
...
A job stealing stuff.
And another. Mom is rather animated.
...
She’s a wild animal, but not as smart. No wonder her son turned out the way he did.
Democrats have been breeding people like them for their votes for over 50 years.
Deh - MON’ - gee - uh
Grandma was a crack ho.
Lol. It’s changed “a bit” since then. We have the UPS hub, HQ for YUM! and Humana and have two Ford production plants... It’s come up in the world. But, there is also a large minority population in the downtown area, and they’ve been herded into absolutely FAILING public schools for the past 20-30 years. There are many “families” who are now multi-generation on government subsidy programs. They know no other way of living.
Add to this the on-going drug culture, and it’s pretty much an urban disaster in the west end. Louisville is very divided city.
Who leaps out ??
Sir Lancelot, Galahad and I leap out of the rabbit..... Ohhhhh.
Not as popular as The Holy Grail but just as good!
I want to have babies! It's every right as a man.
It’s a sign !!
Agree... I like that be too.
