Re: Powell

Bob Smith endorsing Kerry, that’s the comparison I couldn’t think of last week.

Bob Smith was a disgruntled ex-Senator. He already demonstrated flakiness by switching out of the GOP to the Taxpayers Party before switching back in order to get a Committee Chairmanship the moment Papa Chafee bought the farm. He just wasn’t that important, nowhere on par with Enoch Powell, who was one of the most prominent politicians in the UK and powerful to boot.

Of course, if Smith’s endorsement of Lurch had beaten Dubya in 2004, there would’ve been no Zero in 2008 (yes, he’d have been in the Senate, but he also probably would’ve been defeated in 2010) and the GOP would’ve had commanding leads in the Senate (probably landslide wins in 2006 and 2010, the latter would’ve taken down Zero in IL). That’s the good news.

The bad news is that McQueeg still probably would’ve taken the 2008 nomination and still would’ve deliberately thrown the election to Lurch for a second term. Lurch would’ve repaid him by making him a Cabinet Secretary. Zero couldn’t have done that in 2009, because the collusion would’ve been too obvious and all hell would’ve broken loose.

So, in 2012, Hillary would’ve probably had clear sailing (John Edwards probably would’ve been ousted as VP during Lurch’s first term, so whomever would’ve been VP during his second term would’ve been the other contender — might very well have been Plugs). Trump would’ve then run 4 years earlier and the outcome would’ve been the same against Hillary coming off an unpopular and corrupt 8 years of Lurch.
