WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Eight William & Mary students, a visiting faculty member, and an employee at the Williamsburg college were arrested as part of a months-long drug investigation and round-up by Williamsburg Police and the Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force.
"Drugs seized during this investigation included LSD, Cocaine, Psilocybin (mushrooms), Opioids, Amphetamines, Steroids, Hashish and Marijuana. Approximately $14,000 in cash was also recovered," a police spokesperson said.
The investigation began when police learned about "unreported sexual assaults due to an increase in drug activity occurring on or around the college campus."
The investigation remained ongoing, police said, and warned more arrests were possible.
The following people were arrested in the most recent round-up:

Date rape drugs... and booze gets a pass?
The dude in the middle of the top row sure looks like the Waffle House gunman.
“let them experiment with ideas, drugs, sex and learn a thing or two.”
***************
How about experimenting with the concept of personal responsibility? They are now going to learn a thing or two about consequences of bad decisions.
The first thing a college graduate should learn is the rule of law and civility, yet, you prove one again why some people just aren’t college material.
Try lining up any one of those people against the wall for the new “execute drug dealers” paradigm and see what happens.
Came here for the Steely Dan reference, goes away happy.
I actually checked the date.
“Date rape drugs... and booze gets a pass?”
What ever happened to salesmanship?
Since campuses are gun free zones, many young men are carrying knives. My daughter had a guy put a knife to her throat. He said he was just joking around when I threatened to call the police. But it may be the future on campus.
Just a correction to that statement, the former FBI Director will grace the home campus of William and Mary and is scheduled to do one class there.
It makes me sick to my stomach to think that this slug will slither around the campus at W&M spouting off on ethics.
So much for ethical standards that were once highly prized at my Alma Mater. It is a dark day in the history of W&M and will tarnish its reputation. So much for honor and tradition.
Makes you want to put a gun to his head and ask him how it feels to experience the joke? Tough situation.
I call BS - alcohol is the original date-rape drug and more often used than all the mentioned drugs put together.
“experiment”
It’s a campus, not a lab.

While what you say has been true for our generation, times have changed. I have observed the change first hand several times and do not like what I have observed. It is the current trend.
All parents should have a conversation with their daughters on protecting their beverage from others and never departing from a friend when out together. Recently I was at our local pub for dinner and met a young beautiful woman alone at the table next to me. She was well dressed in a business suit and I later learned that she was a Dr. She moved over and started hanging on me and asking for help. I recognized that she had been drugged and was not just drunk. (or she never would have hung on me...LOL)
I observed one man, a friend of the bartender that kept hanging near her, offering her a ride home. I stayed with her for a few hours until a group of her friends arrived and she assured me that she was now ok. It is sad, especially when the diseases today are like playing Russian roulette. These men are lower than low.

That was GBH - not even mentioned in the article.

I'm glad they included the actual motivation for the bust.
My daughter had a guy put a knife to her throat. He said he was just joking around when I threatened to call the police.
You threatened? That's it?
well, I went to law school and am a practicing attorney so I guess someone thought I was college material, and personal attacks do nothing to advance your argument.
All they are learning is about government overreach. Ruining the lives of these kids does nothing for us as a society.
Could have been. I do not know. Or roofies?
