New York Times reporter Amy Chozick has a new book coming out about Hillary Clintons 2016 campaign. One article outlining the book at the Times is titled They Were Never Going to Let Me Be President (which is reportedly what Clinton said after it was clear she lost on election night).
"Things were already looking bad when Chelsea Clinton popped the Champagne. https://nyti.ms/2F3JXcW"
The title of the tweet was the opening sentence of the article. Chelsea Clinton took exception to that:
"Hi @amychozick! The 1st line (Things were already looking bad when Chelsea Clinton popped the Champagne) is false. I would have been happy to tell you that if youd asked, which you didnt. Looking forward to the correction once you fact check. Thanks!"
CNNs Brian Stelter pointed out that the Times updated that sentence after Clinton complained:
"Following this tweet, @AmyChozick's 1st line was changed to include attribution: "Things were already looking bad when, several people told me, Chelsea Clinton popped the Champagne."
That attribution wasnt enough to satisfy many:
(snip)
Would the Times have been fairly quick to make a change after a complaint from a Republican?

Will it never end!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another wino, too. Sounds like.
They really don’t believe that their future in politics is over forever.
“It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is. If the—if he—if ‘is’ means is and never has been, that is not—that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true.”
“Will it never end!!!!!!!!!!!!”

NEXT SENTENCE: “That’s when Hillary grabbed the bottle and threw it at the giant TV screen.”
Yeah, but by Hillary’s 4th bottle of champagne, how were things?
i guess no one ever taught chelsea not to pop her cork before her chickens hatched ...
Medicinal champagne
[They Were Never Going to Let Me Be President (which is reportedly what Clinton said after it was clear she lost on election night). ]
Then she screamed “I’m meeeelting!”
I doubt she popped open a bottle of Andre.
Horsey-face Chelsea has committed blasphemy!!!!The Slimes just won a Pulitzer for their “deeply sourced” reporting, they are journalistic gods.
No one must ever question the integrity and honesty of Slimes reporters, not even Horsey Face Clinton!
We don’t care about Chelsea, we just want to know when Hillary threw the bottle of champagne at the giant TV screen!
I want to know when Hillary threw the bottle of champagne at Dr. Feelgood!
Hubbell Horse face needs to be dropped into Haiti along with her Ma.
