My story:
Last year I was in St. Pete and decided to stop at a Starbucks. I just go in get my coffee and leave (don’t like drive through).

While ordering I couldn’t help but notice the seats at the long table was full of black women. That’s nothing of note, but they were the loud type. So as I surveyed the scene, I noticed there wasn’t one cup of coffee on the table.

They must have been there a while because in the minute or to I was there, the manager went over and said something to them. I left and I was them filing out. but then one lady backed her car half-way into the lane for drive through and the lane to get out of the parking lot. Several other of the women stood by the car and they were continuing their conversation...right there, oblivious to the drive through customers, and me want to get out of the parking lot.

This went on for what seemed like 5 minutes, and finally the manager came out and said something and very slowly the impromptu meeting dispersed.

At the time my thought was, this are angry peeps looking to cause some kind of trouble or be the next Rosa Parks.

I wonder if this is the work of the community organizer?

That’s very possible. I think in your case, they may simply have been clueless, but in the case of the two guys in Philadelphia...these men were looking to provoke.

And I still suspect that the “offending” employee was black, possibly female and young. Starbuck’s does attempt to hire from the local community and give some kids a chance to up their game in terms of public contact and self-presentation.

But a young, black, female and probably “not of their class” employee trying to enforce company policy would have been totally unacceptable to these two MBA jerks, who obviously scoped out weakness.

There could be something else involved, but I think that if the employee had been white, Hispanic or Asian, that would have been emphasized in the news reporting.
