I find myself quitting movies 10-25% of the way through.

We do that all the time. After the 24th F bomb and the twelfth g-damn, we give up.

And that often occurs even before the obligatory gratuitous female-dominant sex scene.

I know what you mean. It's like a few 13 year olds got together and after learning new "bad" words, and they want to use them as many times as they can in the first ten minutes.

Netflix has the new Lost in Space series playing now.

Maureen is a physicist. Of course she solves all the problems and the father is played off as an 'exotic grunt' of some sore, special opps meathead. One daughter (black by a previous marriage) is a physician at 21. Penny open defies her mom and comes off as a jerk, but evidently got good grades. Will so was mentally challenged that Maureen had to falsify his testing, so he could be approved to be included in the space evacuation of planet earth. None the less, he makes a number of great moves, that help out the family and the community at large. One wonders how, they trashed his character so much. Men dumb = women brilliant After dad being talked down to constantly by Maureen, the kids still think he's great and respect him. LOL You've got to ask yourself why. In real life, kids would generally shun the parent the smarter brilliant one put down all the time. Dad was away serving his country, and Maureen was supporting the family by filing for divorce. The writing doesn't even make sense. They have to play up Dr. Smith, being a bad person. So they go about doing it by having "her", yep he's a her now, undermine effort to get off the rapidly decaying planet they've landed on. You have to overlook a lot to like this trash.

After dad being talked down to and dismissively constantly by Maureen, the kids still think he's great and respect him. LOL You've got to ask yourself why. In real life, kids would generally shun the parent the smarter brilliant one put down all the time.

You have to overlook a lot to like this trash.

One plot line found the marooned Earth people executing a plan to salvage a full reserve tank of fuel. This would have gotten all 27 (possibly 37) people off planet back up to a mother ship.

During the trip back from picking up the fuel, the fuel truck turned over.

A friend of the 21 year old (daughter) doctor was pinned under the fuel tank. Moving the tank to pull him out would lose most of the fuel. They played it off as the only "right thing" to do. So they moved the truck and pulled him out. Doing so cost 83% of the fuel they were bringing back.

On the way back, the friend they rescued died anyway.

Nobody challenges her decision, that others backed. The one leader who had it right was played off as calloused.

Sacrificing everyone's lives, was deemed reasoned to save one very seriously injured individual, who then died.
