We DON’T WANT facial recognition - but the surveillance state, the Globalists, and the Deep State does.

How about simply not CARING to find things to "drop"?

Had Henry Ford run his company like Apple, the Model T would have been reduced to a glorified wheelbarrow.

At some point "minimalist" reaches a minimum and can go no further. Kinda like a reverse Moore's Law.

The most interesting about this comment is that Federal and State governments already use facial recognition. If you go to a rock concert or any large gathering of people the police will be there with a camera that a computer will use to check people for outstanding warrants. That’s fine I guess, if a cop recognized a fugitive it would be great to capture him but there is something that bothers me. How can we have any illegal voting if we already have facial recognition? Why do we even need to sign in, we should be able to face the camera and vote and then let the computer mark us as voted. That person could not vote anywhere else because the computer would know about it.

Im more of a needs based person than wants based. My original kendal was better than my last and i dont need much of what is great and new on phones. Certainly not face recognition.

Some days i dont need much at all.

At some point, there will simply be a clear piece of glass-like material, no buttons and no case, just a transparent screen with a hologram display.........................

The solution is simple: keep a small top bezel area for the front sensors. That’s what Samsung did with the Galaxy S8/S9 series and the Galaxy Note 8. And there is enough space in the top bezel to accommodate a 3-D facial recognition system (if needed) in the future.

That's gonna be a hella hard thing to find when it drops into the floorboard of my car at night.

Don’t have an iphone, but from what I’ve seen of my coworkers’ phones, the most appreciated feature would be a screen that easily detaches and was replaceable for a modest fee. It seems they are regularly shattering their screens and then shelling out big bucks to get them repaired.

As always Samsung did all this long before Apple.

Please, Apple, don’t get rid of the side buttons. My Iphone X already mysteriously turns itself on in my pocket from time to time. I shudder to think what might happen if the side buttons become virtual.

Interesting idea and solution. A possible reliability hit. We buy the screen cover an case and haven’t had a cracked screen yet in the 14 years of phones. My son is especially hard on electronic, too.
