April 17, SATURDAY. On my way up stopped at Estey’s factory to hear a first-class organ just completed and destined for some Presbyterian conventicle at San Francisco. . . .* Our big party is to be Monday night, and I fear it will prove dreary.

* Jacob Estey (1814-1890), after creating a successful organ factory at Brattleboro, had placed a branch agency in New York.
