The NBA broke the all-time attendance record for the fourth straight year with more than 22 million fans attending games this season, the league announced Thursday.
The league also set records for average attendance (17,978) and sellouts (741).
Records were also set in merchandise sales on NBA.com, and NBA League Pass subscriptions were up 63% from last season.

I'd like to see that research because, imo, both the NFL AND the NBA suck. It's been several decades since I watched an NBA game. Larry Bird was still playing.
More foreign players in the NBA than before.
This is weird. I’m not a fan of watching sports on TV anyway, but my least favorite of the pro sports, by far, is Basketball. But that’s just me.
I used to love basketball as a kid.
I think the 3-point shot ruined the game.
More fake “analysis”? Does a paid-for, but empty seat count? Or does a warm body actually show up in the seat?
If I were faced with the choice of having a prostate examination or watching a basketball game, I’d take the exam.
The good news is that most games, you only really need to watch the last two minutes.
My wife and I were given free tickets to a Seattle Supersonics game a while ago. We ended up at half court, three rows up. We left at the end of the first quarter, and only waited that long because we didn’t want to be rude.
“The good news is that most games, you only really need to watch the last two minutes.”
That depends. The last 2 minutes of clock time, or actual spectating time?
Watching the end-game foul-o-rama gets old.
Well, for one, I know Commissioner Adam Silver forbade NBA players from kneeling for the anthem pretty damned early into the controversy. They didn’t suffer the PR black eyes that the NFL did even if there are a bunch of SJW whiners such as LeFraud James in the league.
That’s the other thing about basketball. A team that is fouled, in the final two minutes should have the option of simply resetting the shot clock and keeping possession, in lieu of taking free throws, why reward a team for committing a foul?
I would put flopping (on par with some of the worst in soccer), offensive charging fouls that aren't called, and perhaps the most biased refereeing in all of pro-sports at the top of the list.
The next time you get a chance to watch Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors just do it.
Curry is an amazing player - just fun to watch. In fact the Warriors are just a fun team to watch. Some real talent on that team.
I’m probably in the minority, but I even miss the pre-shot clock days in the college game.
I think a hint of why I don’t enjoy the sport can be gleaned from this:
I was tall for my age in high school. I tried out for the basketball team and didn’t make it. :)
I quit watching after seeing one dribble at half-court and four steps to the basket ... and no traveling calls!
Curry and the Warriors are one of the few NBA teams that can get me interested. I used to like the Spurs too until Popovich went political.
